It is usually a better idea to begin in an apprenticeship first in order to build up your basic craftsmanship and knowledge. Once you have completed an apprenticeship, investigate technical colleges and universities in your area that offer the credentials you are looking for. Not all universities offer gunsmithing courses, so do your research!
