In some texts, it is really difficult to differentiate sarcasm with excitement. How can I be sure that the person isn't being serious, if I know nothing about the author?

If there is some sort of asterisk or sign, such as maybe having some words italicized, that might help you detect sarcasm. If there is an emoji that looks like it's displaying sarcasm, such as the eye roll emoji, that can also help. In general, with texts it's hard to see the emotion of the person writing it.
