These cracks usually provide short-term relief, and as long as they're not increasing pain, it shouldn't be a problem. There's no evidence to suggest that it accelerates arthritis. As long as you're not having to do it excessively, like 20-30 times a day, it should be fine. If you are having to do it more frequently, that's probably a sign that there are some stability issues going on. In that case, you're better off thinking about strengthening.
