Avoid feeding pigs many common root vegetables (such as parsnips, celery root, and raw potatoes), as well as onions, avocados, parsley, rhubarb, celery, and unripe tomatoes. Don’t give them foods rich in sugar or salt, and avoid feeding them animal foods that are not formulated for pigs, such as dog and cat food. In addition, don’t give them raw eggs, raw meat, or vegetables that are moldy or rotten. Ask your local agricultural extension office about wild plants in your area that may be dangerous for pigs to eat.
