Go to a craft store and get a wood plaque the same size you want for the top of the desk. Then, buy two wood letters (good options are A, V, L, and W). These letters will serve as the legs. Hot glue the letters to the bottom of the wooden plaque on each side. Once dry, paint it however you'd like.
