It's a good idea, both to cut down on dust and to be sure your HVAC is working properly. Get a home performance contractor to check for leaky ducts which may be pulling dirty air from an attic or basement. If your ducts are leaking, you are also spending more on energy costs to heat/cool unnecessary areas.
