The TV itself wouldn't necessarily be connected to the Wi-Fi network, but rather the Roku would be connected to the Wi-Fi network. As long as your TV is connected to the Roku through a cable such as an HDMI cable, you can access the apps on the Roku through your TV, but it's the Roku that's on the network.
