The answer to your question is somewhat tricky. Yes, technically, you will have the ability to evaluate patients without an order from a physician; however, and it is a very large caveat, the willingness of third-party payers (medical insurance systems) in the US to cover care provided by you without a physician's order would likely be very limited. In essence, you could, but you would probably be limited to treating only private pay patients without a physician's order.
