It helps to remind yourself that your brain is in your body. The same way your arm can fall asleep, your brain can kind of wander off and focus on something else without warning. It helps to remember that there's consciousness outside of yourself. That's what wisdom is. It's the ability to tap into alternative perspectives to redirect your thoughts. So if you're at work and you start thinking, "I really want a chocolate bar or a snack," remind yourself, "No, I'm trying to lose weight," and stop that thought in its place.
