If your x-rays and blood test are normal it is unlikely that it is rheumatoid arthritis, but you may have another rheumatological disease that causes hand pain. If you start to notice a deformity in your fingers and pain in your wrist, this is characteristic of rheumatoid disease. There are other conditions that you have to be examined for and these include the following: IBD, lupus erythematosus, fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, mixed connective tissue disorder, and polymyalgia rheumatica. Follow up with your doctor and ask if you might be suffering from any of these conditions.
