Large boxes can be obtained from furniture stores, box stores (no pun intended!), places that sell large appliances, supermarkets, etc. You may need to ask for the store manager to keep some boxes aside for you though as most large stores have efficient box crushing machines to get rid of excess boxes rather than giving them away.
