This article says Coke is easier to sip on, and is smoother than Pepsi, but Pepsi has less carbonation than Coke. Isn't it right to say that Pepsi can sip more smoothly because Pepsi is less carbonated?

You make a good point. However, when the article was talking about smoothness, it was describing the flavor, not the carbonation (fizziness).
