Ornidazole is a 5-nitroimidazole derivative active against protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. It is converted to reduction products that interact with DNA to cause destruction of helical DNA structure and strand leading to a protein synthesis inhibition and cell death in susceptible organisms.
কাজ
এ্যামেবিয়াসিস্ (আন্ত্রিক এবং হেপাটিক), জিয়ারডিয়াসিস, ট্রাইকোমােনিয়াসিস, ব্যাকটেরিয়াজনিত ভেজাইনােসিস্ এবং সংবেদী এ্যানারােবিক সংক্রমণের চিকিৎসায় ।
থেরাপিউটিক ক্লাস
Amoebicides, Anti-diarrhoeal Antiprotozoalমাত্রা ও সেবনবিধি
- প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক : ৫০০ মি.গ্রা. দিনে দুইবার হিসাবে ৫ দিন।
- এ্যামেবিক আমাশয় (প্রাপ্ত বয়স্ক) : ১.৫ গ্রাম দিনে একবার হিসেবে ৩ দিন।
- জিয়ারডিয়াসিস (প্রাপ্ত বয়স্ক) : ১.৫ গ্রাম দিনে ১ বার হিসেবে ১-২ দিন।
পার্শ্ব প্রতিক্রিয়া
বমি বমি ভাব, বমি, উপ-পাকস্থলিক ব্যথা, মাথা ঝিম্ ঝিম্ করা, মাথা ব্যথা, অবসন্নতা এবং আকস্মিকভাবে শ্বেতকণিকা হ্রাস পেতে পারে।
সতর্কতা
In patient with ataxia, vertigo, and mental confusion, Ornidazole should be prescribed with caution. During prolonged treatment with Ornidazole, blood dyscrasia namely mild leukopenia have been reported rarely. In case leukopenia occurs, the decision to discontinue the therapy should depend upon the gravity of infection.
ঔষধের মিথষ্ক্রিয়া
Like other imidazoles, Ornidazole has a mild potential to cause disulfiramlike reactions. Concomitant administration of oral anticoagulants may increase the risk of haemorrhage due to diminished hepatic metabolism. Ornidazole has been reported to decrease the clearance of 5-fluorouracil.
গর্ভাবস্থায় ও স্তন্যদানকালে ব্যবহার
ভ্রুণ বা শিশুদের ক্ষতির তুলনায় উপকার বিবেচনা করে ব্যবহার করা উচিত।
মাত্রাধিক্যতা
Renal Impairment Haemodialysis patients: Give a supplemental dose (50% of the usual dose) before dialysis.
Hepatic Impairment Severe: Double the interval between doses.
প্রতিলক্ষণ
অতিসংবেদনশীলতা, মৃগীরােগ বা প্রান্তীয় স্নায়ুরােগের মত কেন্দ্রীয় স্নায়ুতন্ত্রীয় সমস্যা থাকলে ব্যবহার করা যাবে না। যে সব রােগীর এ্যাটেক্সিয়া, মাথা ঘােরা, মানসিক বিভ্রান্তি দেখা দেয়, তাদের ক্ষেত্রে সতর্কতার সাথে প্রয়ােগ করতে হবে।
অন্যান্য ওষুধের সাথে মিথস্ক্রিয়া
ডাইসালফিরামের মত রিঅ্যাকশন করতে পারে। রক্তজমাটরােধী ওষুধের সাথে একই সঙ্গে ব্যবহার রক্তক্ষরণের আশঙ্কা বাড়ায়। ৫-ফ্লুরােইউরাসিল এর ক্লিয়ারেন্স কমায়।
