Brimonidine is an α-2 adrenoreceptor agonist that is more selective for the α-2 adrenoreceptor than α-1. Topical administration of Brimonidine Tartrate eye drops decreases intraocular pressure (IOP) in humans. When used as directed Brimonidine Tartrate have the action of reducing elevated IOP with minimal effect on cardiovascular parametres. Brimonidine Tartrate eye drops have a rapid onset of action with the peak ocular hypotensive effect occurring at two hours post-dosing. The duration of effect is 12 hours or greater. Fluorophotometric studies in animals and humans suggest that Brimonidine Tartrate has a dual mechanism of action. Brimonidine Tartrate eye drops lower IOP by reducing aqueous humor production and enhancing uveoscleral outflow.

মুখে শুষ্কতা, অকুলার হাইপাইরেমিয়া, জ্বলুনী এবং শূল ফোটা, মাথা ব্যথা, চোখের ঝাপসা হওয়া, বহিঃস্থ কোন কিছু দ্বারা আক্রান্ত হবার অনুভূতি, অবসাদ/তন্দ্রাচ্ছন্নভাব, চোখের এলার্জিক প্রতিক্রিয়া, আলােক সংবেদনশীলতা, চোখের পাতার ইরাইথেমা, চোখে অস্বস্তি।
সতর্কতা
Although Brimonidine Tartrate ophthalmic solution 0.2% had minimal effect on blood pressure of patients in clinical studies, caution should be exercised in treating patients with severe cardiovascular disease.
Brimonidine Tartrate ophthalmic solution 0.2% should be used with caution in patients with depression, cerebral or coronary insufficiency, Raynaud's phenomenon, orthostatic hypotension or thromboangiitis obliterans.
ঔষধের মিথষ্ক্রিয়া
Although specific drug interaction studies have not been conducted with brimonidine, the possibility of an additive or potentiating effect with CNS depressants (alcohol, barbiturates, opiates, sedatives, or anesthetics) should be considered.
গর্ভাবস্থায় ও স্তন্যদানকালে ব্যবহার
ভ্রুণের ক্ষতি থেকে মায়ের উপকৃত হবার সম্ভাবনা বেশী থাকলেই কেবল মাত্র গর্ভাবস্থায় ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারে। স্তন্যদানকারী মায়েদের ক্ষেত্রে সতর্কতার সহিত ব্যবহার করা উচিত।

প্রতিলক্ষণ
ব্রিমােনিডিন টারট্রেটের প্রতি অতি সংবেদনশীলতা এবং মনাে-এমাইনাে অক্সিডেজ ইনহিবিটর গ্রহণকারী রােগীদের ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহার করা যাবে না।
অন্যান্য ওষুধের সাথে মিথস্ক্রিয়া
বিটা ব্লকার, উচ্চ রক্তচাপ রােধী ওষুধসমূহ, কার্ডিয়াক গ্লাইকোসাইড এবং ট্রাইসাইক্লিক এন্টিডিপ্রেসেন্টস্।

Store in a cool, dry place & protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use more than 4 weeks after opening.
