- Increased intracranial pressure (ICP) is mainly a rise in pressure around the brain. It may be due to an increase in the amount of fluid or cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the brain.
- Normal adult ICP is 5 to 15 mm Hg (7.5–20 cm H2O)
- ICP values of 20 to 30 mm Hg represent mild intracranial hypertension
