Option 1 : 47.6

Let speed of jogger is ‘x’ m/s

Distance between tree and stopping point of jogger = speed of jogger × time taken = x × 5 × 60 = 300x

Total distance covered by train = Length of train + distance between two points = (120 + 300x) m.

Time taken by train to cover it = total distance/ speed = (120 + 300x)/ 60 = 4 × 60

⇒ 120 + 300x = 240 × 60

⇒ 300x = 14400 – 120

⇒ x = 47.6 m/s
