The distance between two points A and B is 150 km. Atul starts from A at 11 : 00 am at the speed 40 km/hr. After reaching point C at 12 : 30 pm he waits for his friend for 1 hour and starts driving at certain speed. Option 3 : 30

Let the speed at which Atul travels from C to B be x km/hr

Time taken taken by Atul to reach point C 1 hour 30 minutes

Distance = 40 × 1.5 = 60 km

Total distance = 150

Distance between C and B = 150 – 60 = 90 km

He waits for 1 hour at C and reaches point B at 4 : 30

Time taken to reach point B to C = 4 : 30 pm – 1 : 30 pm = 3 hours

∴ Speed = 90/3 = 30 km/hr
