When you're in iTunes, click Alt on your keyboard, which will bring up the File button at the top. Click 'File', then click 'Add file to library' or 'Add folder to library'. Alternatively, you can open the folder with the file on your computer and simply drag the file into iTunes (you can also select a bunch of them at once and do the same). You should also be able to right-click on the file, click "Open with..." and select iTunes.
