Given :

Rahul reaches his office late by 45 minutes when he travels at a speed of 10 km/h and he got late by only 5 minutes if he travels with a speed of 18 km/h

Formula used :

Time = Distance/Speed 

Calculations :

Let the time to reach the office be 't' hours 

Let the distance be 'D' km 

According to the question 

D/10 = t + (3/4)      ....(1) (45 minutes = 3/4 hours) 

D/18 = t + (1/12)      ....(2) (5 minutes = 1/12 hours)

Now subtracting equation (2) from (1) 

(D/10) -( D/18) = (3/4) -(1/12) 

⇒ D = 15 

∴ Distance from home to office is 15 km
