You can manual on a mountain bike, but that's about it. Mountain bikes tend to be too heavy for bunny hops and you can't spin the handlebar like a BMX bike. They also can't be pedaled backwards the same way, so you'll need to buy a BMX bike if you plan on doing anything fancy.
