Make sure you have good, sharp scissors, and utilize fabric weights or pins to make sure the fabric doesn't shift, especially if you're working with something like silk satin or flimsy fabrics. Also, be patient while you're cutting. Cutting is my least favorite step because I'm so anxious to get started sewing, but you will quickly find that patience during this step equals great results!
