Never use your toe. Using your toe will result in a lot of power, but little control. If you're doing a pass, you want to use the inside of your shoe, where the racing stripes are. This will help you receive the pass and fire it back at the same time. In receiving a pass, keep your leg loose to let it absorb the ball's momentum. If your leg is stiff, the ball will bounce off. Typically, wait one second or less after receiving the pass before passing it back. A one-touch pass is a lot of power but again, not a lot of control. Another type of pass which will give you a lot of air is to dig your toe into the ground and let the ball roll up on top of your foot, then lift your leg.
