A gap year will not automatically make it more difficult to be accepted into a 4-year college. As long as you received great grades in high school, have excellent letters of recommendation, and took part in enriching extracurriculars, you can create a strong application package for yourself. Remember to explain what you learned during your gap year and how it changed you as a person. When you articulate that, you'll be able to write strong personal statements and win college admissions officers over.
