A totally outdoor cat (such as a feral or community cat) has certain basic needs, such as a windproof and rainproof shelter, to survive the seasons. But life is tough for an outdoor cat and their life expectancy is shorter than an indoor cat. This can range from as little as two years, out to 10-12 years.
