The sooner you have to have cash flow, the larger starter trees you may want to consider. The best prices I have found on the internet are from Hensler Tree Farms and Porcupine Farms in Michigan. Porcupine sells most hardwoods for under $5 for 5-6 ft. trees in volumes of greater than 1,000 trees. They are a little more for 500 trees. Hensler lists mostly 1 and -year-old trees that are much smaller and most run under $1 for an order of 400 trees.
