A rainy day is a day when it rains all day long. It may heavily or slowly. It seems dull and gloomy. The sky is covered with dark clouds. Clouds fly here and there in the sky. Most of the time, the sky is not seen clearly. People can not go out without umbrella. Water stands on the road. Village roads become muddy and slippery. Sometimes roads go under water. As a result, vehicles can not run on the road. It brings sufferings to the office going people. Sometimes it may late to reach the office. A rainy day is a curse to the poor people too. They can not go out from their house to earn livelihood. They have to starve. It also brings sufferings to the school going boys and girls. They can not go to their educational institutions. Though a few go, they get drenched on the way. As a result, classes are not held. So, it becomes a joyous day to them. A rainy day shakes our mind. It reminds our childhood. Sometimes we become affectionate to remember our childhood.

A rainy day 

If it rains all day long, we call it a rainy day. In such a day, the sky remains cloudy. The sun is not seen at all. The day looks dull and gloomy. Sometimes it rains heavily and sometimes it drizzles. Often there are flashes of lightning and roars of thunder in the sky. Birds are hardly seen to fly. They keep standing on the branches of trees. Cattle keep standing on their sheds. In such a day, people have to remain indoors. If the rain is heavy, some roads go under water. So it becomes very difficult to move from one place to another. People carry umbrella when they go out. Those who do not carry umbrella get drenched. One does not generally come out without compulsion. Working people suffer much. They cannot go out to earn their daily bread. Some people spend time in gossiping, playing cards, singing or hearing songs. In a rainy day people like to eat khichuri with fish fry and pickles. Women in the households get busy to prepare these foods. Some flowers bloom on a rainy day and give away sweet smell. A rainy day is enjoyable to the children. They do not need to go to schools. They play indoor games and pass the time happily. A rainy day has a good effect on peoples minds. They long for something on this day they think of their dear and near ones who stay away from them. Thus despite some disadvantages a rainy day has its own beauty.

It is called a rainy day when it rains throughout the whole day. Sometimes it drizzles all day long and sometimes it rains heavily. A rainy day is dull and gloomy. The sky remains overcast with black clouds. The unmetalled road becomes muddy and slippery. Water stands here and there. None can go out without an umbrella. Those having some urgent piece of business go out with shoes in one hand and an umbrella in another. The sun is not seen at all.Gusty wind blows from all sides. Birds keep standing on branches of trees or keep quiet in their nests. Cattle keep standing in their sheds and bellow for the fodder. School going children get a chance to remain away from school,  but the peasants and day labourers have to go about their work even in rain. That is, the poor labourers suffer very much. It is a curse for the poor.On the contrary, a rainy day is a pleasant day for the rich. They remain at home and eat delicious food. They listen to the music of rainfall. In fact, we can say that a rainy day is not a happy one for all classes of people.

A Rainy Day :

A rainy day is a day when it rains ceaselessly all day long during the rainy season. It is called a drizzling day. The sky is overcast with patches of black clouds and the sun remains hidden behind them. The weather is foul. The sun is not seen. Sometimes, gusty wind blows with rain. Rivers, canals and tanks swell up. Roads and paths get muddy and slippery. Water stands here and there. Normal life is disrupted due to heavy rain. One does not generally come out without compulsion. The common people cannot attend their respective places in time. If anybody wants to go outside, he has to take an umbrella with him. The poor and the day laborers do not like a rainy day. They cannot go out to earn their living. Their suffering know no bounds. They go on starving. A rainy day is most welcomed to the students, as they have no classes in the school. A rainy day brings joyous mood to the young boys of the same age and they are seen to bathe in rainwater with merriment. People pass the boy in listening to music, watching videocassettes, reading novels. Those who have imaginary bent of mind enjoy the beauty of nature being drenched in rains. The cloudy sky lets loose their emotions. A rainy day has good effect on the soil. It helps plants grow, flowers bloom and nature looks fresh and beautiful. However, a rainy day is welcomed after the baking heat of summer.
