Given:
Height of the pole = 12 m
Angle of elevation = 30
Formula:
sin θ = Perpendicular/Hypotenuse
Calculation:
Height of the pole AB = 12 m and length of the rope is AC.
sin 30 = AB/AC
⇒ 1/2 = 12/AC
⇒ AC = 12 × 2
⇒ AC = 24 m
∴ Length of the rope is 24 m.
