Average age of 60 turtles = 80 years

Formula:

Average = Sum of all observations / total number of all observations

Calculation:

Sum of age of 100 turtles = 120 × 100 = 12000 years

Sum of age of 60 turtles = 60 × 80 = 4800 years

Sum of age of remaining 40 turtles = 12000 - 4800 = 7200

∴ Average age of remaining 40 turtles = 7200 / 40 = 180 years
