Formula:

Average = Sum of all observations / total number of all observations

Calculation:

Sum of age of 50 turtles = 152 × 50 = 7600

Sum of age of 10 turtles = 148 × 10 = 1480

Sum of age of 40 turtles = 7600 - 1480 = 6120

Average age of 40 turtles = 6120 / 40

Average age of 40 turtles = 153 years
