Two shopkeepers Ajay and Atul sold a fan for Rs 2000 each in their shops and got the same profit percentage. But later it was found that Ajay calculates his profit on selling price and Atul calculates his profit on cost price which is 8%. What is the difference in their profits?

GIVEN:

Fan's S.P = RS 2000

Atul's profit% = 8% 

FORMULA USED:

Profit% = Profit/C.P × 100

Profit% = Profit/S.P × 100

CALCULATION:

Ajay's profit = 2000 × 8/100 = RS 160

C.P of jeans for Atul = 2000 × 100/108 ≈ RS 1852

Atul's profit = 2000 - 1852 = RS 148

Required difference = 160 - 148 = RS 12

∴ The answer is RS 12
