Given:

Average marks obtained by A, B and C = 78

Average marks obtained by A and B = 81

Average marks obtained by B and C = 67

Concept:

Average value = Sum of all values/Number of values

Calculation:

According to the question,

⇒ A + B + C = 78 × 3

⇒ A + B + C = 234    …… (1)

According to the question,

⇒ A + B = 81 × 2

⇒ A + B = 162    …… (2)

From (1) – (2) we get,

⇒ C = 234 – 162 = 72

According to the question,

⇒ B + C = 67 × 2

⇒ B + 72 = 134

⇒ B = 62

∴ Marks obtained by B = 62.
