(Rounded off to two digits after the decimal) Correct Answer 89.14

Total percentage of all seven students in physics = 80 + 90 + 70 + 80 + 65 + 85 + 50 = 520%

Average percentage of all seven students in physics

⇒ (520/7)%

⇒ 520/700

Average marks of all seven students in physics

⇒ (520/700) × 120

⇒ 89.14

∴ The average marks scored is 89.14.

Mistake Points

Note that,  the tabulation in the question provides the percentage of marks by each student. So, if we go and obtain the average by just adding each value in the table and then dividing it by total the solution will be wrong. We are asked to find the average marks and not the average percentage.
