Formula used:

Present age of Mohit = (present age of Sikha + 8)

The age of Mohit in 10 years = 3 × (age of Sikha before 10 years)

Calculation:

Let Shikha’s present age = x years.

Then, Mohit’s present age = (x + 8)

According to question,

In 10 years, Mohit’s age,

⇒ (x + 8) + 10 = 3 × (x - 10)

⇒ x + 18 = 3x – 30

⇒ 2x = 18 + 30

⇒ x = 48 / 2 = 24.

Present age of Mohit = 24 + 8 = 32 years

∴ The present age of Mohit is 32 years.
