What is the amount that each of them have to bear for the purchase of the phone? Correct Answer Rs. 9,180

Given Sapna and Sneha have Rs. 10,000 and Rs.11,000

They want to buy a common gift for their friend and share the cost equally between the two of them

Cost price of mobile phone = 18,000

The retailer charged an additional 2 percent amount for gift wrapping and delivery

Overall cost of mobile phone = Cost of mobile phone + Delivery charges

Delivery charges = (2 ÷ 100) × 18,000 = Rs 360.

Overall cost of mobile phone = 18,000 + 360

Overall cost of mobile phone = Rs 18,360

Share the overall cost of mobile phone to the Sapna and Sneha equally.

Amount to each of them = Rs 18,360 ÷ 2 = Rs 9,180.

Hence, "Rs 9,180" is the correct answer.
