Calculation:

The seller mixed the cherries in the ratio of 5 ∶ 4 ∶ 6.

Let cherries mixed by weight be 5x, 4x and 6x.

⇒ Total C.P. = Rs. 90 × 5x + Rs. 70 × 4x + Rs. 50 × 6x = Rs. 1,030x

Profit % = (Profits/C.P.) × 100

⇒ 40 = {(S.P. – 1,030x)/1,030x} × 100

⇒ S.P. of 15x kg cherries = Rs. 1,442x

⇒ S.P. of 1 kg avocados = Rs. 1,442/15 = Rs. 96.13

∴ Selling price of 1 kg cherries is Rs. 96.13.
