Calculation:

Let the salary of Ashish be Rs x.

As per the question, Ashish donated 90% of what he had decided earlier.

90% of 15% of x = Rs. 2896

⇒ (90/100) × (15/100) × x = Rs. 2896

⇒ 0.9 × 0.15 × x = 2896.

⇒ x = 2896/(0.9 × 0.15)

⇒ x ≈ Rs. 21450

∴ The approx. salary of Ashish is Rs. 21450.
