In the starting, he was donating = 25% of his salary

At the time of visiting, he was donating = 120% more than an earlier donation.

At the time of giving, he donated = 50% more than at the time of visiting.

Formula used:

If an amount is y% above the previous amount, then

Amount = previous amount × (100 + y)/100

Calculation used:

Let his salary be Rs x.

In the starting, the donation amount = x × 25/100

⇒ 0.25x

At the time of visiting, the donation amount = 0.25x × (100 + 120)/100

⇒ 0.25x × 220/100

⇒ 0.25x × 2.2

⇒ 0.55x

At the time of giving, the donation amount = 0.55x × (100 + 50)/100

⇒ 0.55x × 150/100

⇒ 0.55x × 1.5

⇒ 0.825x

Now donated amount = Rs. 33000

⇒ 0.825x = 33000

⇒ x = 33000/0.825

⇒ x = Rs. 40000

∴ His salary is Rs. 40000
