A horse descends 60% faster than climbing a mountain. If the distance to be covered in a one-way route is 180 km, and the time of descent is 180 minutes, then what is the speed of climbing per hour?. Correct Answer 37.5 kmph
Given:
Speed of hours in descends = 60% faster than climbing a mountain
Formula used:
S = D/T (Where, D = Distance, S = Speed, and T = Time)
Calculation:
Let be assume climbing speed and descends speed of horse is X and Y respectively
⇒ Y = 180/(180/60) = 180/3 = 60 km/h
⇒ X × (160/100) = Y
⇒ X × (160/100) = 60
⇒ X = (60 × 100)/160 = 6000/160 = 37.5 km/h
∴ The required result will be 37.5 km/h.
