What is the cost of operating a 1500 W heater two hours per day for a 20 day period? Assume the charge per kilowatt hour is Rs.4 Correct Answer Rs. 240

Given,

Power rating of heater (P) = 1500 W = 1.5 kW

Total operating time (T) of heater if it operated daily 2 hours.

T = 20 × 2 = 40 hours

Hence, total energy consumed (E) = PT = 1.5 kW × 40 hours = 60 kWh

Total operating cost of heater if charge per kW is Rs. 4.

Cost = 60 kWh × Rs. 4/kWh = Rs. 240
