Let the numbers be X and Y respectively

According to the question

⇒ 2X + 3Y = 1200     ----(1)

⇒ 5X - 3Y = 900     ----(2)

By solving the both equations (1) and (2)

⇒ 2X + 5X = 1200 + 900

⇒ 7X = 2100

⇒ X = 300

By equation (1)

⇒ (2 × 300) + 3Y = 1200

⇒ 600 + 3Y = 1200

⇒ 3Y = 1200 - 600

⇒ 3Y = 600

⇒ Y = 200

The required difference = 300 - 200 = 100

∴ The required result will be 100.
