Ratio of profit = Ratio of Amit’s capital × time: Ratio of Sumit’s capital × time

⇒ 5 : 1 = 80000 × 12 : 48000 × t

⇒ 5 : 1 = 20 : t

⇒ 5/1 = 20/t

⇒ t = 4

∴ Sumit entered in business after = 12 – 4 = 8 months
