A total sum of ₹153 is distributed among three friends A, B and C in such a way that C gets 5 times as much money than A gets and B gets 3 times as much money than A gets. How many rupees does B get? Correct Answer 51

Given that  A + B + C = 153 ….(i)

C = 5A ….(ii)

B = 3A ….(iii)

Now, from (i), (ii), and (iii),

A + 3A + 5A = 153

9A = 153

A = 153 ÷ 9

A = 17

B = 3A

B = 3 × 17 = 51

Hence, B gets 51 rupees.
