A boy puts only 5 rupees and 10 rupees coins in the piggy bank. On Monday he puts three 5 rupees coin, on Wednesday he puts one 10 rupees and two 5 rupees coin. Total amount in Piggy bank is 50 rupees. He puts only 5 rupees coin on Tuesday. How many 5 rupees coins he put on Tuesday? Correct Answer 3
Calculation:
Total rupees put on Monday = 3 × Rs.5 = Rs.15
Total rupees put on Wednesday = Rs.10 + 2 × Rs.5 = Rs.20
Let total n 5 rupees coins be put by boy on Tuesday.
Total rupees put on Tuesday = n × Rs.5 = Rs.5n
And, total amount in Piggy bank = Rs.50
⇒ 15 + 20 + 5n = 50
⇒ 5n = 50 - 35 = 15
⇒ n = 15/5 = 3
∴ 3 coins of 5 rupees, boy put on Tuesday.
