Manish sells an article at 10% profit to Sonu, Sonu sells it to Ranu at 10% profit. Ranu sells it to Dinesh at Rs. 19 profit. The difference between the cost price for Dinesh and the cost price for Manish was Rs. 250. How much did Sonu pay to Manish for the article? Correct Answer Rs. 1210

Given:

The difference between the cost price for Dinesh and the cost price for Manish was Rs. 250.

Formula Used:

SP = (1 + P%) × CP

Calculation:

Let Cost Price for Manish be 100x

⇒ Cost Price for Sonu = 110/100 × 100x = 110x

⇒ Cost Price for Ranu = 110/100 × 110x = 121x

⇒ Cost Price for Dinesh = 121x + 19

According to the question,

121x + 19 – 100x = 250

⇒ 21x + 19 = 250

⇒ 21x = 231

⇒ x = 231/21 = 11

∴ Cost Price for Sonu = 110x = Rs. 1210
