A and B together can finish 12.5% of a work in 6/7 days. B and C can together finish one-sixth of the work in 1.6 days. C and A can finish the work in 8 days. In how many days will all of them working together will finish the work?
A and B together can finish 12.5% of a work in 6/7 days. B and C can together finish one-sixth of the work in 1.6 days. C and A can finish the work in 8 days. In how many days will all of them working together will finish the work? Correct Answer 5.33 days
Time taken by A and B together to finish the work = 6/7 × 8 = 48/7 days
Time taken by B and C to finish the work = 1.6 × 6 = 9.6 = 48/5 days
C and A can finish the work in 8 days.
One day work of all three = ½ × (7/48 + 5/48 + 1/8)
⇒ (1/2)× {(7+5+6)/48}
⇒ (1/2) × {18/48}
⇒ (1/2)× (3/8)
⇒ 3/16 units
∴ Required time = 16/3 days = 5.33 days
