After meeting A reached goa = 8 hours

Ratio of speed = √t2/t1 = √50/8 = 5/2 = 2.5 ∶ 1

Difference in the distance after they crossed each other = 50D - 20D = 75

⇒ 30D = 75

⇒ D = 2.5 km

Distance covered by boat A in the first meeting = 24 × 2.5 = 60 km.

∴ The distance covered is 60 km.
