A works for 9 hours and finish a work in 10 days. B works for 6 hours and finish the same work in 12 days. If both A and B work together for 10 hours a day, in how many days will they finish the work?

Given:

A works for 9 hours and finish a work in 10 days. B works for 6 hours and finish the same work in 12 days.

Formula used:

Total time taken to finish a work = number of days × time per day

Calculation:

⇒ A can complete the work in (9 × 10) hrs = 90 hrs 

⇒ B can complete the work in (6 × 12) hrs = 72 hrs 

Therefore, A's 1-hour work = 1/90 and B's 1-hour work = 1/72

⇒ A and B’s 1 hour's work = (1/90) + (1/72) = 1/40

So, both A and B will finish the work in 40 hrs

Therefore, required Number of days = 40/10 = 4 days
