A is the starting point while G is the ending point.

AG is the distance between the starting and ending point.

HD = FE = 1km

HC = HD + DC

HC = 1km + 2km

HC= 3km

HC = GB

AB = 8km

AG = AB - GB

 AG = 8km – 3km

So, Ashita is 5km away from staring point.
