Efficiency = Total work done/time taken

Calculation:

Let, the work was completed in = x days

According to the question,

⇒x/12 + 2/15 + (x – 4)/20 = 1

 ⇒ 8x – 4 = 60

⇒ 8x = 64

⇒ x = 8

∴ The work will be completed in 8 days
