Printer A and Printer B can print 1800 saree working 8 hrs in 5 days. Printer A can print as many Sarees in 3 hrs as Printer B can print in 2 hrs. How many saree can Printer B print in 1 hour? Correct Answer 27

Given:

Saree printed by A and B = 1800

Hours of work = 8

Days of work = 5

A’s 3 hrs work = B’s 2 hrs work

Formula used:

Work Done = Time × Efficiency

Calculation:

 A’s 3 hrs work = B’s 2 hrs work

⇒ A × 3 = B × 2

⇒ A/B = 2/3

Let, A’s one hour’s work = 2x

B’s one hours work = 3x

⇒ (2x + 3x) × 8 hr × 5 days = 1800 saree

⇒ 5x × 8 × 5 = 1800

 ⇒ x = 1800/(8 × 5 × 5)

⇒ x = 9

∴ Saree printed by B in 1 hour = 3x = 3 × 9 = 27 saree.
